Time to shift things over to the other University then.
Interesting. No plans for family housing, I wonder if there are plans for general student housing, or will the university turn it over to be developed like the rest of U/D?This is what the university says about that:

The grad student residence (Crowsnest) fulfills most of that roll now.Interesting. No plans for family housing, I wonder if there are plans for general student housing, or will the university turn it over to be developed like the rest of U/D?
Whenever anyone thinks 17th Avenue SW sidewalks are "good enough" for the pedestrian traffic, show them this picture.Streetscape in front of Argyle looks good. A few mature trees are all that’s missing.

You're not comparing 17th ave and Marda Loop, to University District, are you? Because obviously, that would be wildly unfair in countless waysWhenever anyone thinks 17th Avenue SW sidewalks are "good enough" for the pedestrian traffic, show them this picture.
While not always achievable in narrower right-of-ways, this is the width that a successfully designed pedestrian-centric urban sidewalk should have. I just think how different things would be if we recognized that in all our projects, public and private. Imagine if this was the scale of sidewalks Marda Loop main street was getting instead of a compromised vision, where to save a hand-full of parking stalls we lose 2m of the potential patio and sidewalk zone.
Great pics! UD is really coming along.A few random pics from around University District.
The more I visit the district, the more I like it. Despite the area being so new and all the ongoing construction, it already has a nice green feel to it with lots of trees and shrubs and this is only going to get better over the next few years. As always, university Avenue is busy with people visiting all the retail spots, and that’s another thing that’s only going to get better over the coming years.
Imagine if Quarry Park, which will have a greenline station was developed like this.
