You really believe that crap huh? Come the first day in office, candidates could easily change their minds and keep TC!

Riiight. Is that what happened in Ottawa where the then mayoral candidate explicitly ran on a platform to cancel the proposed LRT line for which contracts had already been signed and work already started?

Candidates could easily change their minds. But if they want to be re-elected, they'll do their best to stick to their promises and that includes sticking to the vision they proposed for transit during the campaign.

Or they could throw it in the garbage where it belongs. Your point is baseless speculation.

And if Transit City is such a great plan, why aren't any of the candidates besides one (a guy who had a hand in drafting it) openly supporting it? If it's that great, it should be a no-brainer to throw your support behind it. Your suggestion is that candidates would need to basically lie to the public, and then do a complete 180 within months or even days of being elected and support it. And with transit being such a wedge issue, doing that would be political suicide.

Riiight! Just wait when McGuinty loses the next election, the PC come into power and not spend anything and all we could afford are LRTs. TC will not be altered!

The one guy who openly supports it has a great shot in winning the election and based on the other weak candidates, Pantalone will most likely win the whole thing in October!

Wake up call to Juan: Transit City has already been altered... Why was it altered? Because those "detailed studies" that you like to preach were botched the first time, and the pricetag of the plan nearly doubled. They were off by nearly 50%, but yeah, they're still credible..

Hahaha. Wow. You're banking on Hudak to save Transit City? Really?

If Hudak doesn't can all of MO2020 on his first day in office, then the only thing getting built will be subways to the 905. Bloor-Danforth will go to Mississauga. Yonge will go to Richmond Hill. Heck, Sheppard might go to Pickering. The LRT dream will be over for sure though. In the PC leadership races, several candidates, even in nutjobs like Randy Hillier supported more subways. None supported LRT. That should tell you something.

The only party that might save TC in its current form is the provincial NDP. And their chances are about as good as Pantalone's in the mayoral race.

Good luck to him. It's rare somebody proves every pollster and pundit wrong.

It'll shock the front-runners too. Nobody even talks about Pantalone. That's how little of a threat he is. Heck, John Tory isn't even running and he apparently polls higher! Hahaha.

The TC poster boy was supposed to be Giambrone. That dream got flushed down the toilet along with the texts on his phone.

Why aren't you banned yet? I'm so sick of the whole bunch of you. Mindless sheep.

It's funny. This is exactly why Steve Munro stopped posting, and reading this board. Members like you whose idea of debating is resorting to insults, and calling for members to be banned because they do not subscribe to your "subways r nothing" agenda!

If he comes into power no way in hell subways would be built. He would build a few LRTs or nothing...but definitely not a subway!

The real threat to the other candidates are their weak platforms. They are screwing themselves without Pantalone saying anything. Pantalone should keep smiling, say nothing and allow the others to eat each other alive (like Smitherman versus Ford)

And your source is?

I actually watched the PC debate on TVO and read their platforms. None promoted LRTs. Several agreed on the DRL and more subway expansion. So what's your hypothesis that Hudak would back LRT over subway expansion based on?

And that's assuming Hudak would win, which is definitely far from a sure thing.

I still think you're nuts to rely on this guy for any transit expansion:
