Just remove the Twin Brooks station, they don't even want it anyway.

111 St is the only way in and out of Twin Brooks. Unless the LRT line is moved to the East side of 111 (how?), that would essentially be locking them into a suburban fortress and not providing an alternative.Just remove the Twin Brooks station, they don't even want it anyway.
Indeed it could be added later on if there was a need for it and budget allowed. Ellerslie is a important and busy road.Just remove the Twin Brooks station, they don't even want it anyway.
I like your line of thought here. Doing a shallow cut and cover like they're doing at 23 Avenue (could even be less involved here because it's relatively greenfield) might even work better for the LRT line itself though since it would be a smaller ROW of disturbance required.Maybe the city could get away with keeping the Heritage Valley Station at-grade, but if they want to mitigate a traffic disaster, they need to trench Ellerslie Road under the tracks when they extend the line south to the hospital (which likely won't happen for another decade at least). To be honest, while it'll be sad to not get an elevated high-floor station, this might be a good option. Trenching the road will be a significantly cheaper way to add grade separation.
BadUpdate on the Capital Line South extension going to Executive Committee in a couple of weeks. There's a big red flag in the administration report:
In response, a few changes are planned:
- Making the Heritage Valley North station at-grade
- Crossing Ellerslie Road at-grade
- Reducing the number of LRVs purchased
- Shrinking the size of the Operations and Maintenance Facility
The CoE needs to listen to Reece.
Extremely disappointing. Once again the City is cheaping out on a major infrastructure project. It's like they learned nothing from the mess of at-grade crossings on the Metro Line at 111 Avenue and Princess Elizabeth Avenue. Instead of building something whose design will be sustainable as the area grows and Ellerslie Road traffic volume increases, they go for the el cheapo option.Update on the Capital Line South extension going to Executive Committee in a couple of weeks. Will be interesting to see where city council falls on this when the recommendation gets to them.Extremely disappointing. Once again the City is cheaping out on a major infrastructure project.
