2 years is insane. That intersection will be unbearable in traffic

I don't think it's a big deal. Traffic patterns will adjust accordingly. It's better to have a fixed traffic setup than a constantly changing one like a lot of VLW intersections.

It’s had a terrible pattern since November 2022. I just disagree in the principle that we reduce that many lanes for that long.

Actually, I think it’ll be okay. In the new temporary setup, all directions will have two through-lanes and dedicated left- and right-turn lanes. It’ll be way better than right now, where lanes randomly end and a lot of dedicated turning lanes have been removed. Sure, the speed limit will be lower, but it’s bearable.

The Saddleback/111 intersection is a nightmare for active transport and pedestrians as it is....ugh...

There were cars lined up for blocks with the intersection work around 23 Avenue/111 Street.

Yeah... probably best avoid that area this weekend. I don't think there was even a pedestrian/multiuse path detour in place either.

Traffic change pattern was in place as of this evening. Pedestrian detour is through Skyrattler.

If the construction of this project is anything like the Ellis don’s pre construction (now 7 months late, and not nearly close to being done), then I have no hope that it will take 4 years to complete. So sad how far behind this project has fallen

The detour and lights are up at 23 Avenue/111 Street.

Yes well Ellis Don is not the contractor for the extension so it is hard to project the the same time line for the construction
