It might be better to have the 747 leave the Century Park Station. I can't see the benefit of people travelling an extra five minutes to catch a bus that saves little travel time.

I certainly see the benefit for those that work at the airport outlet mall or shop, but as a travellor coming home and having used the 747 a few times, I dislike the extra time for the bus to go though this area for the 3 stops or so after being picked up at the airport before finally being able to depart home.
Going to airport is direct without stops and a better experience in terms of public transportation.

The airport needs to build a new transit centre next to the terminal which is future-proofed for LRT and/or heavy rail. Then change 747 to only run express from the airport to Century Park, and have a new Leduc Transit route that stops at the outlet mall.

I am guessing many of the employees at the Outlet Mall are commuting from Edmonton, not Leduc, so that is why they take 747.

I'm not sure how much extra time is added to stop there as it almost has to go by there regardless.

No need really for a new route. Leduc Transit already has the route 10 that stops at the outlet mall. There's already a public transit service operated by the airport. It used to have 2 fixed routes, it is now on demand. https://flyeia.com/parking-transportation/on-airport-transit-2/
Presumably the outlet mall is still within it's coverage area. It was on the South route when it was fixed route.

I think it adds about 5 minutes, as it has to do a loop through the whole area:

The few times I've been on 747 there were lots of people getting on in that loop, but why not have those riders use the on-demand shuttle to go to their airport and board 747 there? They are most likely waiting at the mall for a while anyway, this way they could wait indoors at the airport and 747 would run 5 minutes faster.

One thing that will help is the opening of the 65 Avenue Interchange. Buses from Leduc could run directly to the Outlet Mall and beyond.

The passenger volume at the mall is the only reason we are getting a half hour schedule now. Without it we would still have hourly during the day. Be careful what you wish for with your pie in the sky ambitions.

It is basic it is what passenger volumes at this point in time can support. It has taken 10 years to get to this point maybe in another 10 we can consider something else.

The biggest issue the last few times I have taken the 747 was that it was completely full and people were turned away. Frequency should be increased, especially if this is happening on a regular basis.

I don’t know when you travelled last but as of last April the schedule was increased to half hourly all day. As someone who takes the 747 twice a week I have not seen the situation you describe since.

Does anyone know how long it will be until the trench at 111/23 is completed, covered up and roads are set up in their final configuration (with removal of construction zone)? My dad and I need an alternate route to work when school starts, as the Henday disruptions are getting bad and the Whitemud is still a slow-zone.

Piles on south side for rest of this year. Piles on north side in 2026. Traffic shift should happen over the winter or early spring. Final configuration probably won’t happen until 2027 or even into 2028

I’m pretty sure the shared use path detour signage stated the work will last at least 2 years.
