Rumour has it Cidex bought the site. Given it's a big ol' eyesore right across from their first Edmonton project, it wouldn't surprise me.

Blue - Hat @ Five Corners

I heard there was some kind of backroom gambling and other illegal activities, before it got shut down. Anyone else hear these rumours?
 
With this under construction and assuming a development across the street where the Chinatown Mall was recently demolished (at five corners) and including the one in Oliver, Cidex will have scored a Hat Trick. Now maybe they will be able to concentrate on improving the quality of their game.
 
I'm guessing that this property has bern deemed low priority and that we won't be seeing anything soon.

I think it'll really depend on how leasing of The Hat at Five Corners goes for Cidex. If demand is strong enough, they may be willing to move quicker than we think. However, they have other 'tuna in the tub' at the moment, with the South Scona Parking Lot and projects in Oliver in the planning stages.
