The 3-storey mixed-use building north of Xing Wang Bakery on 98 Street is topped-out now. 108 Avenue in between the two buildings has been closed and pedestrianized and will look quite nice when soil and plants go in next spring.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest problems visually in the area are the big groupings of homeless and those going into the shelters. On more than one occasion I have passed by the area and the amount of literal garbage left on the street is extremely disheartening. Between all the people that are there just hanging out and the garbage littering the street very few people would want to even pass by the area.
 
I've definitely stopped popping into some of the grocery stores in Chinatown unless I'm with my husband, and we rarely grocery shop together.
