I had this idea a while ago and thought it would be useful and fun, Mapping out all of the new, under-construction, and proposed development in the city, I don't know if its been done before? so here is my first shot at it, I'm sure I'm missing a whole bunch of projects, and so far they don't have names.

let me know what projects I'm missing, or any other feedback you have, do you find it useful?

Green indicates the project has recently been completed
Red indicates the project is under construction
Blue indicates the project is under development/proposed/in planning stages.

Thats a great idea. I love having a overview of all the projects going on. if you could upload the bigger version but put the names and hights of the projects it would be perfect.

I have a bigger file too, if anyone would like me to post it.

Terrific! Please post the larger file. Can you post it as a clickable thumbnail that we can click on to expand so that it doesn't slow down the page loading for those who don't want to d/l the full image?

Good job, thanks Dane!!

Nice work, my only comment would be maybe use a lighter shade of blue, it's hard to read the numbers on the blue squares.

It's definitely interesting (we used to see more of these back when we used to have posts with comprehensive updates instead of one thread per project). Is it possible to do the same thing but with a Google map?

And I noticed a few blue squares that you're missing around Festival tower. There's:

290-294 Adelaide http://www.urbantoronto.ca/showthread.php?t=10964
Adelaide and John http://www.urbantoronto.ca/showthread.php?t=6484
56 Blue Jays Way http://www.urbantoronto.ca/showthread.php?t=4965
60 John St http://www.urbantoronto.ca/showthread.php?t=5762

There's probably more, too. I can't keep all of those proposals straight in my head

Here is a map I created some years ago, that may still be of some interest:

Feel free to use BuzzBuzzHome, which is an interactive listing and map of all new developments in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Once you register, you can add projects, or modify the projects. It is open, and free for everyone to use.

We do not have a "Development Icon", but:
1. Pre construction;
2. Construction; and,
3. Complete (this is removed a few months after the project is sold out).

M.

Very thorough Dane, thanks. The only ones I can see you're missing are 606 Yonge @ St. Joseph and 164 Avenue Rd.

Great idea ....... Now, if each project linked to the main UT thread on it and and to the developer's website ....

I've got around 50 of them on a map now with at least one link to the UT thread, and some have links to official sites, city reports, urbandb, and SSC thread. If it's actually useful to anyone I'll try to add more projects and fill in some of the missing links to official sites and such

Excellent resource. When you have time/energy you might want to include Market Wharf, The Berczy, The Modern, East Lofts and The King East and the buildings at the Distillery - all of which are happening or have applied for permits. (Plus the buildings along Queens Quay, George Brown, Corus etc.) In fact you had best cancel your Christmas plans and get to work :)

Adam Vaughan's website (that currently says "Coming Soon") has development maps for Ward 20 with various links and staff reports for the various applications. When the website is back up it's a good place to look for some ideas.
