Transmission Studios gets a lot of business. Cheekbone left on Monday and I think there was also a BestBuy event before Ikea started.
310 King East which used to be UpCountry is now an office for Boat Rocker Media which makes tv content (Orphan Black, Invasion. This makes sense as many of the studios are in the East End. Another high-end company with 500+employees that will be great for restos/bars! Image later.
Confirmed: Their websites (on Wayback Machine) show they were at this address (310 King St E) in at least 2020 (but not in early 2019)I'm pretty sure Boat Rocker has been using that space already for years, to some extent. On Google street view you can see their logo through the window as far back as 2019 (which also shows Upcountry was there til roughly 2018). But I also noticed they were renovating recently, did they add some more permanent signage? Agree it's good for the neighbourhood.
Apparently, CBC Marketplace did a piece on it at end of January.Have the private equity firms tapped out dentistry? They're now focusing on veterinary?
A few doors away at 489 King St East there is also coming soon signage for the "Bark Bath & Beyond" pet grooming and boutique. So not a vet, but another dog-oriented service on the strip.Have the private equity firms tapped out dentistry? They're now focusing on veterinary?
