For those who use the cycling route along Barton Ave in the west end, Councillor Saxe is looking to make the portion between Christie and Clinton one-way westbound because Barton's being used as a cut-through by cars as a means to calm traffic. Her letter to TEYCC doesn't mention giving an exemption for bicycles, but I'd be a little surprised if she isn't supportive since she bikes a ton in this area, though I've only seen her along Bloor. Without a formal exemption for bikes, I'd think the route on Barton from Shaw to past Bathurst would get broken up, leaving cyclists who don't want to disobey a Wrong Way sign to navigate the busier Christie to connect on Bloor and continue their route. I've emailed her to suggest an exemption for cyclists be part of the motion.

Would it be practical to use the EXO comet cars that are being retired if there are not enough LRC'S around? Doesn't look like we will be resolving the issues with the ventures anytime soon.

We would need to swap the seats with the ones from the retired LRC's. You could use the galley in the adjacent car like they do with HEP I cars.

Not sure if there's a separate thread already for the Scarborough Bluffs West Project, but the City of Toronto sent an e-blast this morning saying the notice of commencement has been issued given the Province approved the EA terms of reference. You can go to the project website to sign up for updates including any public consultations that come up.

Wow, as someone who has spent most of my life in The Beach and The Bluffs, I too am excited to see this moving forward. Attached is from one of the original plans (I'm guessing it has not been posted elsewhere). I understand it may be more appropriate to post here...

I knew there was one for the SWP, but the Scarborough Bluffs West Project is wholly separate. Will update that thread as well anyway.

(EDIT: This is part of the city's 'Next Phase of Waterfront Revitalization' which I think is also worth reading about if you haven't done so already.)

The Western waterfront study has launched a second phase of consultations. There is another survey, which is open until Dec. 8, and a virtual meeting next week.
 
Sigh.........a crew of 8, two actively working on each flight of stairs with one person bringing tools/materials as required to each team, and one supervisor would knock this out in a week except for the landscaping....but there are a whopping 2 people working...
