Probably just so the map didn't take up too much room on the site. On the engage site they have both north-south oriented maps as well as this more east-west one. Seems they just use whichever one first with the article or page best layout-wise.Can someone tell me why, unlike every other map maker in the world, Metrolinx doesn't put their maps so that North is at the top?
Their image in the post above has North to the right, just for kicks.

But at least the transit geek crowd on the street will cheer as the TBM gets lowered into the holes.
If they don't upgrade Line 2 with ATC and with new trains in time for the opening they could at least have the extension only have new trains and ATC and have the new trains short turn back northbound at Kennedy so one would have to transfer at Kennedy to go further north, or south.
