Good. Let them all die.
Agreed. But the province needs to relatively quickly set up an adequate empties returns program. I know it's been discussed before here. It's just frustrating that Ford et al. seem to think they don't need to do anything to force/support this

If you sell items which have a deposit then you should be obligated to return the deposits to customers who return the items.

1. I know we don’t want this to become the recycling thread, BUT, why not just stop doing deposits and returns altogether. Blue bin for all.

2. The distillery of all places would seem like a place rife with craft beers and a setup for dealing with returns, but I gather by turning it into a tourist destination they really don’t have a physical setup for storage or transport.

I mean… the rack house is right there…

The deposit system is there to encourage the return of recyclable articles. In Quebec. unlike here, there are deposits on soft drink cans (in addition to alcoholic ones). There you seldom see ANY drink cans on the street because people pick them up for the $$; here soft drink cans are commonly seen lying on the street. If everyone was 'perfect' then deposits would not be necessary, unfortunately they/we are not.

Bergo announced their Jelly Cat store opening. You can see it on their Instagram.

Passing by I saw they had an ongoing line up, which is wild- because they pretty much just had the stuff on some shelves last week and nobody was rushing.

Nonetheless, what does it say about the Distillery when businesses like Got Style and Bergo give over so much floor space to Eataly and Jelly Cat?

Far cry from the indie artist days of Artscape at Case Goods.

in other news, there’s a new furniture store hidden somewhere, AND college Boreal has somehow expanded into the stone building (despite all Ontario colleges kinda receding).

Question: Is this an expansion of Boreal College? New? Thanks!View attachment 706312
The artists were evicted from the Case Warehouse (I think that's what it was called) building a couple of years back to allow for temporary facilities for Collège Boréal while they build new facilities closer to the ML tracks. I don't have exact dates, but likely 2023. Not sure when CB moved in

These signs have been up since the summer. Can’t say I’ve seen the student traffic as the case Goods has, so I don’t know if they’re in there. The top floor/attic underwent some big renovations the last couple months at the same time they repaired the roof. There was a big flashing lights Christmas party there a few weeks ago, a couple days of photo shoots. Unsure how it might be connected. I did see some furniture shop advertising as being in that building, but if you can find them you’re a better sleuth than me.
