Are the lights on the Arcade Building, as shown on today's banner, seasonal or permanent? I was watching them last night and they are really quite riveting. They make the Bay's new lighting look kind of lame.

I took a second look at the lights on Yonge Street, plus took some photos of the lights at BCE Place.

Last night I noticed that the lights on the Arcade building aren't just blue any more, they ripple in many - oooh! aaaah! - colours.

Well, if you look close, the Arcade lights are bolted on. That is, if you remove them, you disfigure the facade. Ergo, as long as they're there and there aren't immediate plans to reclad (knock on wood), better make the most of it.

pretty snazzy indeed (photo from flickr)

BTW, I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned, the three office buildings located at Highway 427 and Dundas in Etobicoke got some fairly radical blue neon vertical striping late last summer - running the entire height of each building, on all corners, quite striking from the 427.....

Walked by tonight and the lights are still on. This time they are alternating between darking green/light green and orange/purple. Very cool! May not be a holiday thing.
