The plans include a performing arts centre. Bad idea IMO when looking at the Living Arts Centre and the Rose.

Why would it be a bad idea? Markham already has Flato nearby beside Unionville High. This would be an updated and large capacity venue which I can see any shows or arts would be hosted at the new arts centre. The plans include a performing arts centre. The Sciberras Extension is outlined here. As far as I know, the extension is currently being studied on it's impact on the rouge valley and they are still working on finding the best way to cross it. I would not expect the southern extension from Highway 7 in the next 5 years atleast, especially as this extension is considered a "minor collector" and not a "major collector". As well, when road construction projects are near, you can possibly find information on it here - https://www.york.ca/transportation/roads/road-construction-schedule. As well, here is a presentation dated January 12, 2021 from the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority LinkWhere is this supposed to connect?
They need to connect Clegg first and then maybe extend Enterprise west of Warden for any sort of relief.
Hwy 7 is a clusterfawk any time of the day. Absolutely frustrating, I refuse to take it now, however short the drive, avoid like the plague.
They also put up a electronic billboard at Unionville Go. You can see it off 407, kinda tacky.
I think a lot of the slowness is a result of developers waiting for Buttonville to finally close. The university campus is really going to speed up the pace of development though.
Any guess on the price range of UnionCity? There's some movement in this area today, more cars parked, more construction vehicles pushing dirt... they might actually connect Clegg finally!
But it looks like Times Group is just finishing up the two new towers and hopefully start selling and break ground on the the west side of Verdale.
Now if Remington moved half as fast as Times in the Centre, it would have been built already. Although its promising seeing that Gallery and surround areas getting prepped for building.
Near the new York University, Union City presentation has gone up, looks like they're ramping up to start selling too!
Exiciting stuff, after YEARS and YEARS of slow building...
