What's great about working from home is that it means Edmonton's downtown will remain stagnant for a very very long time! /s SMH

... and our far away train station and no direct transit to the airport from downtown and so on. Yes, our city is very consistent in this poor job of welcoming tourists. They are at best an afterthought.Ian, we do a mediocre job at best of welcoming tourists or even newcomers to our city. We don’t even have a tourist information office downtown anymore because money saved was going to be spent on more online campaigns to attract more tourists. But that at a starting point is a failure of inviting people over and having your front door locked when they arrive.
I don't think Edmonton talks a big talk. Actually, as a recent-ish arrival, I think the way Edmontonians are constantly putting down Edmonton is off-putting on a personal level and works against its interests economically. Heck, even the Chamber of Commerce can't say much more than "Hey, At Least We're Affordable!"Edmonton is its own worst enemy. We talk a big talk, but the actions and follow through are lacking.
Yeah the amount of people in this city who constantly go "oh why choose Edmonton, Edmonton sucks, Deadmonton" is ridiculously annoying. It has to take outsiders to say "your city isn't that bad" to get some of it to stop.I don't think Edmonton talks a big talk. I agree 100% -- even when some become aware of their negative tone they keep on bashing or at best offer back-hand complements comparing Edmonton to how great other places are in alignment. "Off-putting" to put it mildly.Actually, as a recent-ish arrival, I think the way Edmontonians are constantly putting down Edmonton is off-putting
These are the same people who complain but don’t vote.I agree 100% -- even when some become aware of their negative tone they keep on bashing or at best offer back-hand complements comparing Edmonton to how great other places are in alignment. "Off-putting" to put it mildly.
