It is, but there are basketball courts in downtown Calgary, and they're busy even in the winter. I doubt a lot of people know about the court at Oday'min park yet.

I saw people there when the weather was nicer a little while go, they or others will probably be back when it warms up again soon.

It certainly would increase the homeless occupancy at the stations. Be careful what you ask for.

Drug use, loitering, and disorder all still illegal. But yes, that’s why I generally don’t support pushes for free transit systems. But once a week as a way to bring new users and support local businesses could be worthwhile.
