Shape looks good. I doubt those can be the final type of materials though. Haha.

I see poured-in place or precast concrete, brick, and glass or metal spandrels -- seems like reasonable finishes to me.

Open House boards etc.

Old Strathcona set to debate proposed 31-storey tower
Move aside Southpark on Whyte, Old Strathcona could soon be home to an even taller tower if a local developer gets its way.

Residents weighed in Wednesday on the proposed Bateman tower, a 31-storey building that would be larger than the recently approved 20-storey Southpark block.

Located on the corner of 99 Street and 89 Avenue by Wild Earth Bakery, the proposal would require the city to rezone that spot, which currently only allows four-storey buildings.

Strathcona Centre Community League president Maureen Duguay said the neighbourhood has yet to take a stance on the proposed tower, but has raised concerns over shadowing, the effect it will have on aging water pipes, traffic and the building’s mass.

Can't decide if a love the design or not. Would rather see more height on the windows, and is that actaully going to be brick? As well as what material will be used on the other side? The design looks a little outdated already to me.

I'm not a fan of the design, personally, but most people seem to love it. I don't know, it reminds me of the current stock too much. I wonder if this is the route they chose to go though rather than using better windows with the new legislation on building code in Alberta. Might be a cost savings thing.
