Yeah, I said it a few pages back on here, but props to OEG for continuously activating this space. I know it's easy with playoffs happening right now but it feels like it's not often where there is not something going on—even in the winter! They keep trying new things, making that whole area feel lively. I'd love to see other landowners try and get creative with space they don't plan on developing for a few years. The Lot on 124 is another creative use of an underused parking lot. More stuff like that around DT while waiting on development would be great.

Either you are too young or too oblivious to the pro Calgary-Klein era that saw one child receiving everything while the rest went hungry; it was better than seeing people jamming needles into their arms like an art display. Bill Smith didn't ask Klein to give Calgary everything while Edmonton took a stab to the heart during our 90s recession.
 
That Bomfest crowd looks small. I'm not really (at all) into the electronic music scene but I thought this was a fairly big event that drew ~10,000 based on pics I've seen from past years.

Hard to say who was playing but perhaps it was one of the lesser-known acts. Some photos from when Armin was playing had the crowd looking much, much larger, which makes sense since he's a huge name in the EDM scene.
 
I just did a 10-minute Angus Reid survey looking for my feedback about a major, permanent indoor/outdoor venue on the site. The focus was primarily on my opinions since this would "require" significant public dollars.

I'm certain this is what the conversations between the provincial government, municipality and Oilers group are about.

(excuse me for not grabbing images of the renders - picture the fan park infrastructure that is already there, plus a large indoor venue)

The scale of the building didn't appear stadium-like to me. In fact, it isn't particularly large (the outdoor space remaining is large enough for 3 hockey rinks based on the render)
