It does not... but you could do a 'quick stop' in YWG and make that work.
That said, with the UPX now it makes YYZ far more tolerable.

Expanded Canada-India Air Transport Agreement to allow unlimited flights between both countries
- The agreement gives Canadian air carriers access to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai, and Indian air carriers access to Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, Vancouver, and two additional points to be selected by India.
Nice to see Edmonton specifically mentioned. Given that India now accounts for the largest share of immigration, I think it's just a matter of when, not if, nonstop YEG-India starts.Expanded Canada-India Air Transport Agreement to allow unlimited flights between both countries

The expanded agreement specifically opens up Edmonton, Montreal, so not just through Vancouver. Vancouver already has daily India service. It likely would all funnel through YVR as a 'direct', but here's hoping that I am wrong.
Not surprising given people didn't start travelling in earnest until June of this year I'd say.Edmonton International Airport October 2022 Passenger Stats
October 2022
Terminal Total - 508,999
Domestic - 450,943
Transborder - 43,335
International - 14,721
For Comparison, still well down from 2019 unfortunately.

Terminal Total - 599,718
Domestic - 504,236
Transborder - 81,057
International - 14,425
That doesn't look like well down from 2019 to me? Overall I'm surprised but it seems like YEG is back very close to 2019 levels?Edmonton International Airport October 2022 Passenger Stats

About 16% but I do wonder if local traffic is back pretty close to pre pandemic and some of that difference is explained in less Air Canada and Westjet connections happening at YEG.That doesn't look like well down from 2019 to me? I think you're right. Considering Air Canada is not doing any regional flying and WS is not really driving any connections, domestic origin and destination demand must be quite strong at the moment. Interesting to see that both Edmonton and Vancouver are at about 85-86% of 2019 levels (https://biv.com/article/2022/11/yvr-passenger-volume-stays-86-cent-pre-pandemic-level), and YEG is achieving this despite a reduction in connecting traffic.About 16% but I do wonder if local traffic is back pretty close to pre pandemic and some of that difference is explained in less Air Canada and Westjet connections happening at YEG.
Would have to compare difference between those same periods at other airports.
