Back to the ramp -- of course, it is an extension of the pedway system that will connect Edmonton tower to Marriott and then on to Rogers Place.

Excellent @Hillman. Under close observation from the skycams that surround the construction site, it appears that the cantilever on the north side of the Marriott projects out over the City sidewalk, supporting further the notion that the ramp under the cantilever is a pedway extension. I think that this might be the first instance of a pedway construction that runs parallel to a City sidewalk -- am I right?

Looks like they now have a crane in place on the south side and have begun the first steel there. Will probably go up over the next few months.

So are they just going to punch through the pedway into Rogers Place? I find it odd they completed exterior finishing on that side only to presumably tear some of it back off to make the connection.

Thanks Hilman. Last time I was at Rogers I thought it looked like they'd put up siding there but looking closer at these pictures I can see it's not.

That outdoor space on top of the podium seems to have been reduced dramatically as well.

@crisp How do you figure? Looks about right from me, based on the steel that's up now. Most of the open space will be a bit south where the steel is still going up.
