Even Regina beat out the lowly McMahon! Haha! YYC can’t even buy a concert……lol

More YEG dominance!

Yeah, I don't care why either, although it has to be one of the oldest stadiums in Canada. So perhaps it will be replaced eventually.

Although I suppose now they are spending all their money ( or maybe I should say the province's money) on their new arena instead.

Don’t care why they can’t….bottom line is they can’t and never will .
Sure, 'never will' only works for McMahon, but outdoor concerts in general in western Canada are largely dependent on the CFL's success. If Edmonton ever decides to get rid of Commonwealth and/or build a new football stadium, we'll be on the outside looking in for these stadium shows too.

I also think your schadenfreude might turn to woe on the arena front once their new one is built and they start handing us our ass on concert bookings.

Well if the CFL or even the local team does become so successful that there is a broad based interest in a new football stadium, I suppose it is possible but probably as unlikely as McMahon being replaced anytime soon.

Yes, when the new arena there is done it may change the dynamic for non outdoor concerts some, but Rogers here is still fairly new and works quite well so perhaps not that much.

Now we need Pearl Jam to fill Commonwealth on their last leg of their "Black Matter" tour which is going on to a 3rd year IF they continue it with more dates. I know they've done Europe and MOST of NA excluding, of course YEG and a good chunk of the Midwest US. They continue to be on a hiatus- last time I checked....fingers crossed we see them soon.....
