That has to be the most gawd-awful hotel on the planet. What a soul-crushing steaming heap of dino droppings. Can you imagine coming in from the airport, first time in Edmonton, your company booked you at a Delta and you then realize that you've actually been demoted, to hell on earth.

For the love of all things holy, can some benefactor please buy that failed mall and hotel, and have one HUGE demolition party? Can you imagine the joys of swinging a sledgehammer into that? It'd be more joyful than winning a cup named Stanley.
 
I find the entrance to the hotel sandwiched between two parkades to be very unappealing, then next to that there is the nice revolving door that seems to often out of service these days.

Unfortunately it is also next to the bleakest part of the mall, but other than those three strikes it is ok. It probably worked better when that end of the mall actually had a number of stores and was more lively, but that isn't something the hotel can do a lot about. Although, maybe they should move their restaurant down to the main level and take up some of the nearby empty space.

If they can improve the entrance somehow that would help a lot.

Not to compare the Delta to the Savoy but this is the street access to the Savoy. It’s not between two parkades but it is pretty narrow and pretty dingy in terms of it not being a grand entry. It’s not always about what you have but it is anlways about what you do with it.
