@MichaelC I think that Edmontonians definitely have mixed feelings about this building. Personally, I really like it! They should have done more with the sides not facing Churchill Square (like maybe adding some murals or different materials along with the metal plating, such as gray rock) but I still think that nonetheless it is still a great addition to the downtown. To each their own, I guess:).

The front-facing interior space of this building is going to be dramatic to the point of smothering all other design faults. I am anxious to see what is going to be done to the rear exterior space -- great spot for an oversized sculptural garden (as well as the planned-for children playground). I, too, like the way the building is progressing!

I actually think I will like this Reno, ( come on, we saved some $ ; ) I'm hoping it turns out really, (really) good. If usage, interior space , and if anyone actually knows what the final exterior finish might be, it will be a plus in my opinion, 3 1/2 book marks out of 5.

I swear @Kaizen -- I agree with you -- when this project is complete it is going to sit among Edmonton's most notable buildings, especially considering that it is a retrofit!

I find this design really easy on the eyes from all sides. Its not boring nor trying to do anything too dramatic, yet I think its geometric texture/lineature is going to get lots of attention. Smart.
