The renderings don't even show a pitched roof at all, so maybe the whole thing is coming down. Not sure how I'd feel about that to be honest if that is the case
Well, it cant be removed (thankfully), as the site's both a Provincial and Municipal Historic Resource — a change that big would get an immediate denial from both regulatory bodies. It seems like its just a matter of wonky perspective in some of the renders. This one shows it;
On a somewhat related note, I've been doing some research into the building, and it seems as though the southern portion of the hotel is actually brick construction. I wonder if that's what ended up saving it from burning down?
Yup, they missed that fire show. But now they could put a kiddy pool on the main floor with some goldfish and try out their new ice fishing gear during coffee breaks!
From Monday. With the exception of the alley it looks like they've pretty much finished painting it. The portion of the roof replaced has been covered as well.
