I think K-Days will be fine for the next 3 decades at least. There is so much developable property on the Exhibition Lands and K-Days takes up only a small sliver of that.

I agree not much is going to happen, but the comparison to the quarters is not the best. The city owns the whole development area for exhibition/coliseum and can dictate pace/plans. With the quarters it's a piecemeal of independent owners, many of whom are absent owners who are just holding on for speculation. The city has minimal control of the actual development in the quarters. Nothing will happen with the expo grounds because of the city's limited capacity and stubborn refusal to implement a municipal development corp.
Remember, folks, an election is coming up. Let's make this a key issue for the candidates.
I would agree, bureaucratic inertia and lack of understanding how to properly market and develop are probably the biggest obstacles here. However, at least unlike the Quarters, it does not have the stigma of being such a bad area.
I don't go cause I'm not into that music, but obviously lots of 'folks' are, so all the power to em'. Good to have another popular summer festival!
