Upcoming Public Consultations
The second round of public meetings for this study is being held on February 20th, and 27th, 2019.

See link.

The public meetings will provide an update of the project, with a particular focus on the findings of the Planning Study that has been completed for the full extent of the LRT corridor from Kennedy Station to Malvern Town Centre. If you are interested in the Planning Study and broader Eglinton East LRT plans, please join us at one of these public meetings:

Public Meeting #1:
Wednesday, February 20th, 2019
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
St. Martin de Porres Catholic School
230 Morningside Ave, West Hill, ON, M1E 3E1
Public Meeting #2:
Wednesday, February 27th, 2019
6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Malvern Community Recreation Centre
30 Sewells Rd, Scarborough, ON, M1B 3G5

Just watched the video again. Really great piece, but just noticed the first shots in the video are looking down Lawrence ave just west of Midland. Smarttrack related but no impact whatsoever from the EELRT. The shots later on moving further east on Lawrence @ Galloway make sense as that's reasonably close to Morningside crossing.

Haven't heard much from the EG East LRT meeting that took place tonight, but saw these tweets. Looks like there are phasing/distance related options on the table:

174480

It is possible to either connect to the Conlins Yard, or use the Mt Dennis facility.

Although Mt Dennis is not optimal, as that option will involve quite a bit of dead-heading. In the morning, the trains are needed to take people from the east end to Kennedy, but first they have to travel 20+ km from Mt Dennis to UTSC. Similar problem in the evening.

The Eglinton East LRT and Egltinton Crosstown LRT are the same route or line. Most likely the trains will terminate at Mt. Dennis before going out-of-service and moving into the yard at Mt. Dennis.

But it’s likely there’ll be short turns at Laird, Science Centre, Kennedy, Kingston-Eglinton, Morningside-Kingston.

You're forgetting the Eglinton West LRT. The trains will terminate convair or Terminal 1.

They'll need a second yard on the route very soon once all three of these branches are open.

Likely short-turn at Mt. Dennis or Keelesdale. Just like as they handle the subway trains for the Greenwood, Davisville, and Wilson yards.

The capacity for the Mt. Dennis yard was originally to handle Eglinton and Jane LRTs. So it can handle the Eglinton East light rail vehicles until the Jane LRT comes available.

Imo Eglinton West will come first
Like these things are getting built...
We'll see :)

Are there no pocket tracks that can be used for overnight train storage?

On the under-construction portion of the line, there are a couple of pocket tracks scattered along the route, but I suspect that they will only be big enough for a 3-car train each, and not for any amount of substantial overnight storage. I suspect that they will likely do the same on the eastern extension when it is built.

The original design capacity was 163 LRVs for the full Transit City Eglinton Line (Crosstown + Eglinton West) plus most of Jane Line. Some of Jane could be stored at the Finch West MSF. With Jane never going to be built in the next decade, there's plenty of room for Eglinton East. This is more than twice the current order of 76 LRVs. They did alter the original design since they are expecting less LRVs.

Altered? Or didn't do a full build-out? Presumably the ultimate design is the same or similar, with minor modifications to deal with a smaller initial capacity.
