It's always a pleasant surprise to find another photographer's image similar to one's own....and at the same location.
This one was made in May of 2017..........and features the ever-present electronic devices of the day.

Looks like Steve McQueen or a young Yul Brenner. I really enjoy these old photos folks. Keep them coming. The south side of Front between York and Yonge is probably my favorite streetscape in Toronto, especially the curved Dominion Building or whatever it's called now.

NW aerial view and Frederick Street to the right, 1894 (from Library and Archives Canada): Campbell House can be seen at the top of Frederick, as can the Quetton St. George House on the NE corner of King & Frederick (the first brick house in Toronto (York) built between 1807 and 1811):

Interesting shot. Here is a partial here and now. The building with the square tower is 197 King Street East - currently for sale in Realtor.ca for $10,900,000

Great comparison, DSC. The 1894 photo is also interesting for illustrating the diversity of buildings that once stood on the north side of King between George and Frederick, as can be seen in these pics from the TPL:

Six years after the last photo, the Christie's factory emerges (this phase on the King corner was built in 1914):

That's a wonderful collection of images, thecharioteer.
I'd like to use the one at King & George St. on the "Then & Now" page.
George St. has a special meaning to me since one of my first photography jobs was there (Pringle & Booth Studios) where I earned $35.00 per week (c.1954).
