In those days the city's masonic lodges tended to specialise in who they attracted. St Andrew's Lodge tended to attract teachers and Methodist clergy. Ionic Lodge attracted lawyers and doctors, Mount Sinai Lodge attracted Jewish men, Zetland attracted businessmen, Georgina Lodge attracted commercial travelers, Rehoboam attracted city officials and Alpha Lodge attracted the police.
