0% has been sold since the grand opening is next weekend and there have been no sales yet. They are advertising Fall 2008 occupancy.

The ESSO gas station rebuilt is not associated with the Roncesvalles Loft development in any form whatsoever.
90% was tentavily sold this past weekend. Too bad the sales will have to be overturned or the developer will be sued for misrepresentation, non due-diligence and absolute scam. Greedy scumbags.

The only thing scammy about this development is any local nimbies oposing this project: the area is DEAD and could easily hold another 100,000 people and cars!

Well the city council has already established how many permits they will issue for each zone and they wont issue any more then that number no matter how many people apply.

I dont know what the requirements for a fire escape are but there are two serperate stairwells on opposite sides of the buildings so it seems quite safe.

Anyways we will see what happens
 
I too went to see these units on the weekends and was a bit disappointed for all the reasons already mentioned (although I was unaware of the whole zoning issue--thats just bizarre).

The Roncesvalles lofts right acress the street are much nicer IMO (at least as planned as they are still pre-construction) and some are still available.
 
the feather factory lofts are a scam

the "Plush Spa" is a rub and tug andf i live across from the feather factory loft building have been here for over a year ..the builders cut many corners that were illegal im sure...we have no parking as it is her on the street and if you buy into the feather factory lofts you will not be issued a permit to park in this area at all. as the feather factory lofts are not zoned as residential they are zoned as commercial so the sales people are lying to get sales so the people that have aready bought in to them are screwed for parking and habitation,as i understand you are only allowed to use the commercial units as business units and not to stay in and live in it is illegal. and the fire standards are not in place either ..it is a real money making scam for the owners to just make their money on the units and what happens to who bought them is the buyers problem ..Sold! And people that live in the area such as myself will fight them to zone the building as residential. The parking around here is awful and the crime is hidden ..gang activity because of the plush spa and other things. cheers to whoever is stupid enough to buy one of these units at the feather factory loft building.

you are soooo right ...sharky..I cant believe they never posted the permits on the window as they were supposed to do by Law..in order to build
 
you must work for them and not live in this area...cos i do live here and have done for 15 years...and the parking and rub and tub (plush spa) ruin this area big time not to mention the half way house and the 200+ reguestered sex offenders in this area alone with the gang bangers also. and the parking situation is this area is horrible and no permits are being issued to any one that moves into the address of 2154 Dundas street west (feather factory lofts)because of the zoning of the building being considered as a commmercial zone not a residential zone ...so what are the people that bought the lofts going to do now ....when they find out..they were lied to ???????
 
Frankly, I find that the Plush Spa is as archetypal as rub'n'tug street presences go. Kind of like that corner porn store that used to be on Broadview a few corners north of Danforth
 
SIDHEMOON: I have been to visit the area several times (before and after work hours) and i have never had a problem with parking...

As for halfway houses i know there is the keele centre one which is Keele and Dundas and one on Roncesvalles and Queen St W. But then again these halfway houses are scattered throughout downtown. There probably isnt a 2KM radius downtown where you cant find some sort of halfway house, mental health/addiction centre or emergency housing facility.

The registered sex offender number is kinda worrisome where does that number come from? Is it specifically in the roncesvalles area?

Im not exactely sure what a "gang banger" is but that doesnt sound good either.
 
The RSO stats were in the news after the Holly Jones murder. And there's a halfway house in the fed building up at Keele & Annette--and I think that former liquor store at Dundas + Morrow also holds something...

There is something up at Dundas + Morrow - on the south side. You will know it if you saw it, v sketchy building.
