A suitable location for a downtown Keg is the old Maria space near the Old Spaghetti Factory.
If that fails then how about in that ground floor CRU in the Stantec Tower?
I don't think the Maria space is big enough?

Campio has done really great where they're at, but a Keg in there after Characters left would've done quite well too I think.

Looks like Town82 on Whyte is already dead. What a black hole that corner has been.

It's such a prominent corner at Whyte Ave and Calgary Trail. I fail to see the need for Old Strathcona's version of the Tap Room. Speaking of which, a 2nd location for Fawkes should be opened at this location.

Campio is one of the only DT bars that I find sees consistent traffic year-round. And for good reason.

Their current seasonal pistachio milk stout (which can't be purchased in cans or growlers unfortunately) might be one of the best beers ever made in the province.

They already looked at the Stantec space. Not busy enough during week and too many social issues.
I wonder if when they looked at it was some time ago. I go there regularly during the day and it generally seems fairly good now.

I am around there sometimes in the mid evening too and it usually doesn't seem too bad.

Yeah, this seems odd to me too. First of all they would basically kill Chop, and all the decent restaurants within a few blocks seem to be doing pretty steady business.. This would get very strong lunch and dinner traffic.

As for social disorder, they’d be in a pretty good spot.

Not my money so it’s their call, but I would think it would do well.

Agreed, I wonder if they looked prior to 2024 or whatever. Stantec is basically full now and there are a lot more people out and about now, Their loss I guess.
