Delish. What was odd though, was shear lack of people there on a nice Saturday; we were 2/3 folks in there. Has it fallen off or?

I liked it, but $20+ for a bagel sandwich made it a one-time stop for me. It's getting harder and harder to stay south of the $20 line for fast casual lunch/brunch these days.

Went to Rosewood for their DDW sandwich + coffee instead. :)

Today's the last day for Downtown Dining Week. Was at District for their bacon breakfast sammich and a latte, which was quite good. The eatery was packed for a Sunday late morning. Can't wait for their new location at the Rice Howard Place tower.

Tonight's the last night for Downtown Dining Week. Had dinner at Birdog (bison carpaccio, bison sirloin, tiramisu, 9 oz. glass of pinot noir) which was quite good! There were a few quibbles - no wine menu, no DDW menu since their last day was on Friday night, no cutlery - but these were rectified to satisfaction by my awesome server Mariana. I gave her a big healthy tip for that! It wasn't very crowded in Birdog, so I hope they do survive the LRT construction this summer.

Kind of surprising timing considering the new park is likely to bring lots of family traffic through (and kids seem to always love BPs), but I get it. Last couple times I've been there it was pretty dead, even on Friday/Saturday evening.

  • The former MilkCrate space in the Epcor Tower will be filled by another location of Hearth and Hive this summer (they took over the Dining Car Cafe last year in the CN Tower).
  • El Taco Loco, a Spruce Grove taqueria, had opened an Edmonton location back in November. Unfortunately, they have closed it due to an issue with the building manager.
