GO Transit has started posting its on-time performance and overload statistics on-line. It really shows where the priorities should be as far as adding trains and adding track.

Milton is the worst performer in terms of overloading.
Lakeshore from Oshawa or Burlington arriving at Union after 7:30 and before 9:00 are also full.
The worst on-time performing runs are on Lakeshore during the morning rush.

Major kudos to GO for being willing to release this information to the public. It's nice to see that organization showing some accountability and transparency.

I don't think the TTC even collects this data, and if they do they clearly have no interest in making it readily available to the public.

On time information for the streetcar lines? Ooooh... those numbers would be scary.

Percent of seats full numbers? Ooooh... those numbers would be scary too.

The TTC isn't going to lure anyone out of their car with the revelation the streetcar will almost always be late and a seat is a luxury the TTC cannot afford to ensure passengers get.

It might cause some needed pressure for service and reliability improvements. I know San Francisco MUNI has released reliability figures and has implemented a special program looking at all options to improve their worst-performing streetcar route.

Looking at those GO numbers again, the huge demand and potential of the Milton line is clear. Combine this with the midday and evening bus schedules for that corridor and it's clear that a suburban rail service would be massively popular from day one.
