A couple more pictures of the Grand bridge, it is indeed the only crossing of the Grand on the GO rail network.

This:

IT IS FINALLY HAPPENING - Metrolinx has posted the construction tender for the Bloor GO/Dundas West TTC tunnel connection. Closes April 13th.

PT-2021-NAFD-378 - PT-2021-NAFD-378: Bloor GO (TTC Connection)

Needs to be juxtaposed with this:

Keep in mind, they promised this back in the 1970s and started working on the connection in 1974, and roughed it into the Crossways building. Though with no facility for an elevator in the design, they have to start from scratch.

Also recall the 1985 negotiations that the Ministry started with Crossways to do this ...

Started in 2015 ... LOL!

As per Metrolinx Toronto West Newsletter, they're initiating geotechnical investigation at the site of the future Caledonia GO station.

Overnight Geotechnical Investigation within Barrie GO Rail Corridor
January 22, 2023 – February 02, 2023

What to Expect
Crews will use a track mounted drill rig to perform the investigation works. The work zone will be safely delineated.

Customers and residents may experience some noise and vibration from construction vehicles and equipment. Site lighting will be positioned away from residential properties. Site-based noise mitigation measure will be implemented to minimize the disruption as much as possible.

There may be some limited day work, expected to take place Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Overnight work will be required for safety when there is no train activity, and is expected to take place Monday to Saturday between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

Work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What's the status of Mt Dennis GO station?
I shot it in Dec and still had a lot of work to do for all the platforms. Still have the north sidewalk close off.

The Weston Rd entrance is block off with benches and light poles in place. Other than some landscaping, its finished.

Traffic lights and entrance for the bus entrance as well NO Frills is in service.

From what I can see, the station itself is done, but missing the fencing on Eglinton

More like a “lack of update”. No change since the summer for tying in the stub tracks at West Harbour. Photo from James Street looking east.

Could be late this year or in 2024 before the track work begins, considering its takes about 2 years to do a station with thhis one been very slow so far.

Since VIA and CN only have a few trains on this line, you can get away having 3 tracks, but a 4th would be nice. To put in a 4th track will require a number of overpasses to be rebuilt as well the corridor.

At this location we may have 3 tracks once the West Harbour tracks are extended, but only for a short distance. During the Confederation GO construction announcement, it was stated that the planned 3rd track addition between West Harbour and Confederation wasn't proceeding. Regardless, through freight traffic isn't frequent at all, and GO only really has to contend with switching by CN.
