With Confederation opening and it most likely at hourly all day service, ML should make new plans and make changes to new or existing buses and focus on expanding to Niagara region.
This may also be an opportunity to extend bus connection service south from Hamilton.
Perhaps a GO bus from there to Binbrook, the airport, and then Caledonia?
Doesn't need frequent service, but maybe a twice per day round trip?

Hopefully Kitchener Line next.
Same but I'm not holding my breath.

Interesting though is that the GO has not announced special October Reading Week train service to Kitchener during the weekend yet.
Nevermind, looks like GO just announced service to coincide with Oktoberfest. Now if only weekend service to Kitchener was permanent.

This mornings''s announcement from the Premier in Hamilton was the opening of Confederation Station with service to begin October 27th.

Also announced, service increases coming to LSE, LSW, Stouffville and Barrie.

So more or less hourly service to Confederation.

Service extensions to Appleby from Oakville

Remaing improvements are peak period only.
Keep in mind that Metrolinx picks and choses whether to report "trips" or "round trips" depending on whichever sounds better. Note that they report the travel time savings at West Harbour per round trip (because 7.5 min per trip sounds less impressive), yet they report the number of new trips as individual trips (because "6.5 round trips per day to Confederation" sounds less impressive). Given that we're talking about 6 to 7 trains per day in each direction, that's not hourly service. There are currently 6 round trips passing Confederation already (3 to Niagara and 3 to Lewis Yard) so that could be as little as 1 new round trip per day to Confederation.

Blue Jays will have playoffs games at the Rogers Centre on Oct. 4th and 5th. This coincides with the LSW closure that weekend.

I wonder if Metrolinx can negotiate with CPKC about opening their track for special Milton line service that weekend?

Why Milton?

Why Milton?
The other lines already have weekend service, other than Richmond Hill - which is probably not much use to those in Mississauga.

I don't see why they wouldn't run Milton trains that weekend - I didn't hear about any problems when they ran it this past weekend.

They’ve run one to two Milton Line trains per direction the past two closures
I guess I was just at the right time to see them. Looks like it was for Saturday only, for the baseball game and TFC game. Arrive at about 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm at Union, before ending at Exhibition. Then both sat somewhere and returned a couple of hours later. Hmm, they both seem to have terminated at Exhibition, but it's possible one only started at Union for the return trip to Milton.

I'm not sure they wouldn't have run anything for Sunday's Blue Jays game.

Disappointing not to get any peak service improvements on Milton. I'm not expecting miracles (i.e. off-peak or weekend service).
