Watch it be faster to take these busses than Finch West from Finch West to Humber College.

Around 20 minutes to get from Highway 407 (3rd column) to Humber College (4th column). So, yes. Faster to go up to Highway 407 and take this bus to Humber College than to take Line 6.

With the elimination of routes 54 and 66, Metrolinx has done its job of eliminating almost all bus routes that don’t cross a regional or county boundary. The only ones left I can think of are Routes 22 and 38.

The only thing standing between us and half-hourly service from Toronto to Kitchener is the GO scheduling department

There are 2 trains per hour from Union to Bramalea and 2-3 buses per hour from Bramalea to Kitchener, but you can only connect from the train to the bus once per hour.

Looking at that schedule, I'm surprised by the cut to weekend trains from Kitchener to Mount Pleasant. Weren't they pretty vocal about having achieved weekend Kitchener service a few months ago?

yes lol, weekend trains to Kitchener literally just started a few weeks ago

that four trains per day service didn't last long...

Oddly, there is ONE westbound weekend trip to Kitchener left in the January schedule (16:48)... makes no sense at all

The two weekend Kitchener trains are still in the most recent GTFS feed (which was updated on Wednesday, when the new schedules were uploaded). In fact it appears they're running Christmas and Boxing Day, which makes sense since GO runs weekend service on stat holidays. As @WB62 said, early published schedules are known for having errors.

To expand on what @Allandale25 has said, GO is now saying Kitchener, Lakeshore West and Lakeshore East trains will be running hourly on weekend/stat holidays from the 21st to the 5th. Outside of rush hour on weekdays, Lakeshore East and West are also scheduled for hourly-only service (as seen in the PDFs).

Finally, according to the most recent GTFS feed, it looks like GO is treating January 2nd as a stat holiday for the rail network (buses are running on weekday schedules).

They've done that before. Odd, as I think most work places are fully open on January 2nd, in Ontario at least. Though perhaps not this year, with New Years Day on a Thursday! But I believe they've done similar when New Years Day is a Monday, and TTC is running full weekday (as in the 2-week Xmas period) service on the Tuesday.

I haven't looked at the December 20 (to January 2) schedule. I was referring to the January 3rd schedule, and comparing it to the November 22 schedule.

Looking at all three right now, there's still 2 weekend trains a day from Kitchener to Union. But starting January 3 there's none eastbound, and only one westbound. Probably another all too frequent error ... but it wouldn't be the first service cut they'd quietly slid in. What's in the January 3 GTFS schedule?

Sorry about that. The two Kitchener trains appear in the GTFS feed for the 4th and the following weekend.
