Thanks for the picture of my childhood neighbourhood movie theatre (the Eglinton was more expensive and way too fancy for kids). At the Avenue, I watched Hopalong Cassidy, Esther Williams, Hoagy Carmichael, Errol Flynn (!) and other icons of the era. We had to scrounge to afford a matinee (ten cents, I believe) but it was always worth it!
