Nanshan is a quieter western suburb, home to theme parks and a university. Amidst this oasis is a nice hotel with a rooftop lounge offering panoramic views of the city and Hong Kong.

Across the bay and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge is the northwestern suburbs of Hong Kong.

Qianhai's new FTZ lies west of here.

Kingkey 100 is the current tallest building in the city, standing at almost 442m tall. Consisting of offices, retail, and hotel. From the hotel lobby, you can see Hong Kong's northern suburbs.

The city is densely built up around the building. Shun Hing Square next door used to be the city's tallest and looks tiny now.

That's a funny little amusement park or something in the second photo, just compared to the density we see everywhere else.

And I'm obsessed with this photo:

Just the solid wall of buildings in the background and the giant pixelated globe mural in the foreground. What a world!
