After seeing some similar examples along the VIA detour this weekend, I'm even more excited to see the breeze blocks go up. What a creative way to create a unique façade while respecting the historical character of the area, even if I'm not sure how they are planning to sell a 2+D bedroom penthouse for as much as a very nice detached heritage house a block over.
 
Material looks nice but would it kill them to articulate the building a bit and hide those fugly expansion joints? Developers in this city will pay for expensive brick but then pretend it's still precast panels. Here's to hoping that the brick lattice wasn't value engineered out.
 
I do really hope that they open up a new bar in the podium. The Gilmour is always packed, and the Oak is, well. The Oak. I don't think the soda gun there has worked for years.
