"The site at 61 Fairfax Crescent was the location of La Salle Manor, a retirement facility for priests and nuns from a group of religious orders across the City. La Salle Manor has already been demolished and the same group is planning to rebuild the facility as Presentation Manor. The new building will be 4 storeys in height and will continue to be a retirement facility for priests and nuns. Although the owners (combined religious orders) were not required to host a public meeting since the zoning for the site already exists they did so at the beginning of the process. The site will be well landscaped and designed to reduce the impact on adjacent properties. Due to the use as a retirement facility as opposed to a condominium or similar alternative there will not be increases in traffic and the facility should have limited impact on the community."
