What's the deal with Hearn? Is it still being used, or are they getting the wrecking ball out?

It hasn't been generating for almost a couple of decades now. The plans for the movie studio haven't moved forward, but there are no plans to demolish the building. It could eventually be another interesting example of adaptive reuse.
