IIRC, there's seating/leaning space at one of the off-road lookouts and near the new(ish) environmental shelter / washrooms. When you get to the end, up the hill, there's plenty of decent places to sit on boulders or the hill to look out at the lake or back at the city. I hazily remember some benches, but I'm not sure where they are placed or if they're still there.

Some heavy duty work going at Cell 2

And the Cell 2 work from the other side - no snake sightings over there fortunately

I'd heard this is the time of year you'll see snakes down there. Explains the sign I saw down there in November.

Watch out for the snake oil salesmen that are mating down there. They can be really aggressive.

Really great photos androiduk. After all these years of living in Toronto this is one area I have yet to explore. This summer for sure. -- Early construction of the Leslie spit courtesy of the Toronto Archives.

Last summer was my first visit to the spit. It is definitely one of the city's greatest jewels and best kept secrets. I look forward to biking it again this year.

Just an FYI - the Spit is now open weeknights from 4pm to 9pm

Noticed on the weekend that they have started to build a new trail from just east of the bridge on Unwin Street running beside the road to the Outer Harbour Marina (475 Unwin) and then cutting further east along the unofficial pathway (see photo) that leads to the 'interpretive station.' Should be better than the current route along Unwin and they are working quite fast so I assume they hope to finish before real winter arrives.
