recession proof
I'm liking the "old-school" building masses
Something about these two buildings--the hotel and rental building next to it (one of my favourites in the city) with the vertical yellow brick separation--reminds me of the DES Vancouver (pairings of SRO hotels) or even references older deco-style office buildings around adelaide and spadina. A job well done and proves you don't have to cheap out on details to make a buck. It's funny: a relatively blah hotel chain (marriot residences) with architecture of better calibre than the majority of downtown condo highrises! So if we use marriot residences as the base level tolerated: imagine how interesting the area would look in 10 years!
