His Worship John Liberal's Official Opposition
Yesterday... Mayor John Liberal, from his posh high-security Yorkville condo, and behind his 24-hour security detail everywhere he goes, can afford to be Barbara Hall's bitch and impress his white-guilt-laden Board of Trade lefties. In the meantime, his hand-picked new police chief has been stabbed in the back, and the good, innocent people of the black communities where "carding" exists are now condemned to a life of escalating crime, drug-running, and gang-banging. Way to go, Toronto. You wanted a spineless jellyfish to replace a real man, you got your invertebrate.
And this morning... Sue-Ann Levy was on AM640's John Oakley show this morning. In her regular slot, she suggested to the host that Mayor John Tory likely turtled on the issue of police "carding" (aka keeping the peace in troubled communities, IMHO) in a horse-trade for votes on the Gardiner Expressway issue coming to council tomorrow. Common-sense would suggest that she is 100% correct.
Tory's office obviously freaked-out, and within 45 minutes the Mayor himself was on the air with Oakley to explain himself. His convoluted explanation of why he reversed himself on "carding" was embarrassing enough, but then he went on to claim, laughably, that there's no correlation between those who are against his Gardiner Expressway plan, and those who are against carding. This is such an easily-verifiable lie, it's hard to believe he went there. Guess he's challenging his lapdog media to call him out on it. Which, other than Sue-Ann, they certainly won't.
After Tory's appearance, a caller hit the nail on the head: he said that, if John Tory traded away public safety in exchange for an expressway plan, that would be one of the most disgraceful things a human being in his position could do.
