I can get behind renaming Dundas West as Roncesvalles, but renaming Dundas is definitely dumb. The real Dundas West would be St. Patrick anyway.
But would people assume "Roncesvalles" refers to the neighbourhood, or the street that starts more than a quarter of a kilometre away?

What good are unique station names if they can be confused with other things still?

Too bad we weren't there 5 years, ago, we might have occupancy for several hundred affordable units and a few thousand market-rate, purpose built rental units occupied as well; but better late than never.

Ottawa to announce nearly $500-million for housing in Toronto - Globe and Mail​

Toronto will get nearly half a billion dollars under a federal housing agreement – the largest payment yet to a municipality from Ottawa’s Housing Accelerator Fund, which requires cities to loosen zoning rules that protect neighbourhoods dominated by single-family homes.

Two sources with knowledge of the agreement, to be announced Thursday by the federal government, said it would be worth $471-million .... Not every city has received as much money under the fund as it expected. However, the sources say Toronto will get the full amount. Like other money committed via the federal fund, one-quarter of Toronto’s money will flow immediately, with the remainder disbursed over three years.

Good news morning. City of Toronto getting $117-MILLION per year in Federal GRANT (non-repayable) for the next 4-years... if they meet their new HAF threshold of meeting a -

TARGET (2024) # of "net new housing units building-permitted" including HAF support = ~1,694 net new building permits per month.

Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) Annual Period (2024 - 2026 calendar years) :

• # of new housing-units building-permitted without HAF support – 49,200 (16,400 per year)
• # of new housing units building-permitted with HAF support - 60,980 (20,327 per year)

Annual increase of 3,927 additional new housing units building-permitted with HAF support per year, and increase of 24% over pre-HAF targets.

Early votes tell me I'm definitely not a Parthi fan. Seems already anti-density, and anti-bike-lanes. [sigh]
People in his ward HATE condos. Of course many of these people live in a house with maybe 1 or 2 other people and take up a lot of space in their corner of Scarborough. A lot of them also pretend to be advocating for people who buy condos and commiserate with the fact that they're so small. So he's going to be popular in Ward 20.

CBC - "Toronto will receive $471-MILLION in federal funding to build new homes, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office announced Thursday. The money is coming out of Ottawa's Housing Accelerator Fund and should help Toronto accelerate the delivery of around 12,000 new units over three years, Trudeau said at an announcement in Toronto."

QUOTED - "...The City of Toronto needs to be receiving upwards of one to two BILLION dollars a year in both grants and loans in order to make these programs work - and deliver the affordable housing that we need..."
