Presto is really good about fixing these issues. You used to be able to do it in person at a GO Station, but now you can only do it through their website or phone line. I honestly found in person a lot easier though.

I did it in person one time and they were really good with it as well too. My guess is now that people have virtual cards in Google wallet and Apple wallet it's probably not as easy for them to do in the go stations now.

Decided to try and if TTC-GO-TTC transfers had changed how they work and seems to have been patched.

I took a bus at 11:45AM then tapped onto the go at 1:44PM, the fare discount was applied but tapping onto the TTC a few moments later resulted in a full fare :/

Did you tap on then tap off at the GO, before you tap TCC the second time?

Did not tap off the go but I believe in the past it still extended the transfer
It's because you didn't tap off on GO. I did this on Saturday as well and it worked the way it always does.

You only have 14 minutes there between your first tap and the TTC tap - so that doesn't test the 2-hour issue.

But I thought we'd discussed this 2-3 months ago, with examples, that concluded that it wasn't behaving the way it does day 1.

Not seeing 24 minutes between any of my taps. But from my understanding, free local transit trips don't apply if you don't complete your GO trip by tapping off on GO.

Thanks I'll try again! Normally i use a default trip but didn't when I tested it on the weekend.

Different scenario but Back in November I tried tapping on at Queen at 7:10PM then the GO at union with my default trip, I walked and it didn't extend the TTC transfer (not sure if it ever did) It would be cool to make a table of the permutations.

*Tap #1 TTC @* 7:10PM

*TAP #2

Go tap at 7:16PM

*TAP #3*

TTC transfer not extended

I might be missing something but he go the go co-fare and got the 2nd ttc trip (after the original 2 hour window expired) for free.

This is the expected behaviour because the system is still recognizing your first TTC transfer. If you tap on between 9:11pm and 10:16pm, your trip would still be free since the system will recognize the GO transfer after the TTC transfer expires.
Yeah, I assumed so but I always wana have photo evidence

Ah yes. For some reason I was thinking of GO trips where you don't tap out. But of course, there aren't any GO trips like that. (i.e. I wasn't thinking).

Though if you don't tap off of GO, perhaps having to pay the extra TTC charge isn't the biggest issue! Which makes me wonder what @turbanplanner got the following time they tapped on GO.

That said, the last couple of times that has happened on GO, the penalties seem a lot lower than they used to be. It feels to me they've changed the algorithm or something, rathe than simply charging the full fare to Oshawa. It's not been worth appealing![/QUOTE]

If you have a default trip set, then yes you can have a GO trip where you don't tap off. I think it only applies to GO trains, GO buses always require a tap on and off, regardless if it matches your default trip (I guess this applies more to non-Lakeshore lines, like Milton, where outside of rush hour, you have buses instead of trains providing the same service/routes).

Sorry to bump the thread but if I don't end up working on the weekend I'm happy to try and schedule some odd trips if someone wants me to test some ttc/go combinations?
