Oh interesting, actually there was a question after what I just posted asking you to choose one of the races

It's quite an odd way for Statcan to organize knowledge about Canadian ethnic diversity, isn't it? The categories don't quite match the races as it strikes me that these have been generally talked about in the last few decades. It's more of a mix of incredibly broad ethnic and geographic-origin categories for those that Statcan deems to be non-white, and then lumping everyone else together the "White" metacategory. I do not really understand the benefit of racializing ethnic diversity. Presumably Statcan does.
