Near the south end of the Tawatina Bridge

Sounds like the new little pocket park on 100ave/103 will be in design soon with construction in 2027.
Love.

Is there a greater strategic purpose behind this? Otherwise I do not understand how there were funds budgeted for the acquisition, construction and future maintenance of this park given the City's current financial situation. Even if it's coming out of the downtown CRL. There's another nice pocket park overlooking Bellamy Hill literally one block away and Beaver Hills is two blocks away so not like this exists in a parkless area. Again, don't get me wrong, this sounds like a great little idea. Just strange given the fiscal context.

While this makes me happy, I also wonder how long before it becomes yet another hangout spot for the homeless and drug addled.
Yes, this is a very valid concern, the operating budget for the city is even more constrained than the capital one. So while they may have some funds to build a park, will they have the funds to frequently patrol and adequately maintain it, so this does not happen?
