I've always wondered what the government is growing in those greenhouses, why do they even have a greenhouse there?

Sister in law used to get the flower for event, used local flower shops. Visiting heads of states or ambassadors got gifts. I believe the greenhouses were for plants for the grounds.

That's the kind of thinking that created the downtown of empty lots we have now. It's not the building that's the problem, it's how little it's been taken care of, and the businesses that have been located there. It takes effort and care to reverse a buildings trajectory but it can be done.

We need investment into buildings like this, not destruction. The same thing could have been said for the crash hotel or many of beljans projects, and what's there now is much better than anything that would have come from demolishing them. Many of those renovated buildings weren't particular special, but they have a scale and character that is hard to replicate today.

Unfortunately, we don't have enough developers in the city who are willing to restore/renew buildings.

Interesting find on their website, it looks like they're renovating the Quest tower podium. Thankfully, it looks like they're getting rid of that awful tinted glass!

Biking over the Highlevel today. Looks like a retaining wall going in, maybe more?
