I left a comment in favour of the rezoning proposal.

I am certain that this rezoning application will be approved.

At the same time, I figure it doesn’t hurt to have on the record people supporting building multifamily housing across the street from LRT stations to balance out the NIMBY comments: where will people park, it will create too much traffic, it is too tall, it is too close to a school, etc.

(The first two comments were from NIMBYs, mine was the first in support. 😅)

This might sum up WEM's attitude as it was told to me directly from an insider there:
"People who take public transit aren't going to be buying $8,000 purses."

This really feels gross to read. I take public transit to the mall and I work there at Apple. I have spent thousands of dollars there.

Ugh.

ELDER DR. FRANCIS WHISKEYJACK Nears completion. Will be the second largest school in Alberta.

The names of the new schools in the city have always been a little strange 😅. I'm sure its something of notability tho.

Can't imagine a bigger footprint for a high school....4 floors! Btw, I just noticed it got named very recently as it was always just labeled as the "new SE High School / Meadows HS.
Yah this shot doesn't show the whole site either. The north have is 2 story.

At least 2 other high schools going up. The new Catholic one in Heritage Valley, which is supposed to be open next fall. and a new one up next to the Castledowns YMCA, I believe they just broke ground.
