Maybe it's a 'campus style' plan to decide where future buildings for the RAH will be located. There are still a few surface parking lots adjacent to existing buildings that would be great options.

I remember seeing some docs that had a replacement building for the old Wings. A new tower about the location beside the transit centre. And eventually remove and replace the old wings.

Would this be their way of making up for the monthballed South Hospital? Increase capacity at the existing campuses and adding different services etc?

Any new tower would include some more active treatment areas. And based on costing for hospitals right now I can't see RAH addition coming in anywhere less than $500mil.
Red Deer is going to be that at least when it finally starts construction.
Strathcona Hospital may get more services. They do not have patient care areas.

Honestly, because of the inequity in access to hospitals between South and North Edmonton, I would actually applaud the UCP if they seriously invested in Royal Alex instead of the new South Hospital. The Royal Alex is one of the highest use hospitals in the province, is ancient, and covers a massive range, it desperately needs expansion/improvement.
I don't believe for a second that they will but I would applaud it.

Good point. While I don't think the current provincial government's strength is competence or making the right decision, they actually might in this case if the cost expanding or improving the Royal Alex is less than that of the new South Hospital.

Drove by the new Catholic High School in Castledowns last night. Going up fast. They are using large concrete panels. Building looks to be 3 stories. AMAN construction is doing this one.
Further south on 127st , the land for the new Islamic Academy was been cleared and is now being serviced. BIRD has this one.

The Citadel Mews in St Albert is still along way from rebuilding. Since nothing has happened I can only assume Christeson Homes is in court still. The fire was May 7 2021

Well that rain the other day impacted St Albert, 110 calls for water ingress, 26 Sewer back ups. 17 units of an apartment affected. RCMP building had some flooding. Hardest hit areas were Sturgeon, Braeside and Akinsdale. Akinsdale was built on a wet land so no shock there. Braeside and Sturgeon are Old neighbourhoods that do not have updated storm systems. But the area of Braeside hit hardest was the flats by the river. And people on hills were reporting water coming down the hills and right across their properties. One big factor was the area around homes. City reported a lot of negative slopping around houses. Something that should be stressed in every neighbourhood. Have soil slope away from your house. I had just done that on the weekend.
